City Nites is a modern residential apartment complex, spanning five city centre blocks. Management needed a robust solution to provide secure, high-definition CCTV coverage for all entry and exit points as well as communal areas, while also delivering seamless, high-speed wireless internet access to every resident and guest throughout the site.

Requirements
- Comprehensive CCTV coverage of entrances, exits, car parks, and shared spaces for 24/7 security monitoring and incident review.
- Reliable, high-speed wireless internet access (WiFi) available in every block, all communal areas, and across the grounds.
- Non-intrusive installation to minimise disruption to residents and the day-to-day running of the property.
- Remote system management capabilities for both CCTV and WiFi hardware.
- Future scalability and robust support for increased device demand and additional cameras or access points.
Our Solution
- Installed 14 high-definition Hikvision CCTV cameras at strategic locations across the five blocks, covering all key entrances, exits, and vulnerable areas.
- Deployed a secure, centrally managed WiFi network using enterprise-grade Draytek access points for complete wireless coverage indoors and outdoors.
- All systems integrated into existing network infrastructure and configured for remote management and live monitoring.
- Works planned and scheduled for minimal resident disruption, with full risk assessment and clear communication to all tenants.
Installation & Implementation Process
- Site Survey & Design: Our engineers performed a detailed survey of all five blocks, identifying key security risk points and WiFi black spots.
- Hardware Selection: Selected Hikvision CCTV cameras for their high image quality, night vision, and remote playback; and Draytek wireless access points for reliable coverage and enterprise security features.
- Cabling & Mounting: Discreet cable runs and high vantage mounting were used to maximise coverage and keep installations tidy and vandal-resistant.
- Configuration: Cameras set up for motion alerts, secure recording, and remote viewing. WiFi network segmented for resident and management use, with strong encryption and bandwidth management.
- Testing & Training: Comprehensive system tests for video clarity, night-time performance, and WiFi speeds. On-site training provided for City Nites management on system operation and troubleshooting.
- Ongoing Support: Remote monitoring enabled for proactive maintenance and rapid support response.
Hardware & Technology Used
- Hikvision DS-2CD2T46G2-4I (or equivalent) 4MP Cameras: High-resolution imaging, infra-red night vision, vandal-proof housing, remote playback, and alert notifications.
- Draytek VigorAP Series Wireless Access Points: Fast, secure WiFi with mesh support, VLAN, and robust security. Central cloud management for easy updates and monitoring.
- Poe (Power over Ethernet) Switches: For clean, reliable power and data to all CCTV cameras and WiFi APs.
- Network Video Recorder (NVR): Central secure video storage with failover and easy video export for evidence.
