In 2011, Gym 212 approached E-Consulting to completely revamp their public website and to install a robust, site-wide wireless network for members, staff, and guests. The goal: a modern, attractive web presence to grow memberships, and a fast, secure WiFi experience inside the gym.

Requirements
- Design a responsive, easy-to-manage website to attract and inform prospective members.
- Integrate social media feeds (Facebook, Twitter), photo galleries, and an interactive class timetable.
- Enable online contact forms and membership enquiries.
- Install a reliable wireless (WiFi) network covering all gym zones: main floor, studios, reception, and café.
- Separate secure networks for staff/admin and guests/members.
- Future-proof infrastructure for easy upgrades.
Our Solution
- Designed and launched a custom WordPress website, optimised for both desktop and smartphones (iPhone/Android), with easy content management for gym staff.
- Built-in social media widgets for live updates and member engagement.
- Added class schedules, team bios, and photo gallery sections to boost transparency and trust.
- Installed enterprise-grade WiFi access points to deliver strong, consistent coverage throughout the facility.
- Configured separate SSIDs for public (guest) and private (staff/EPOS/admin) access, with WPA2 security.
Implementation Process
- Consultation & Planning: Met with Gym 212 managers to map out content, branding, and technical needs for both website and WiFi.
- Web Design: Created wireframes, collected imagery, and developed a fresh, energetic site reflecting the gym’s ethos. Website content and class timetables were uploaded using WordPress CMS for easy future updates.
- Wireless Site Survey: Used signal mapping tools to ensure full WiFi coverage with minimal interference, even during peak hours.
- Installation: Ran Cat5e cabling and installed wall/ceiling-mounted access points. Set up network switches and configured VLANs for security separation.
- Testing & Training: Thoroughly tested internet speeds, login security, and mobile performance. Provided staff with training on both the website CMS and basic WiFi troubleshooting.
Technology & Hardware Used
- Website: WordPress CMS (v3.x), custom theme, SEO plugins, Facebook/Twitter widgets, AJAX-powered timetable.
- Wireless: Cisco/Netgear/Ubiquiti access points (dual-band 802.11n), PoE network switches, Cat5e cabling, business-grade broadband router.
- Security: WPA2 encryption, guest access portals, segmented VLAN for admin traffic.
